Lawless Receives Endorsement from Women’s Campaign Fund

WARWICK, RI – Jennifer Lawless, a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Rhode Island’s second congressional district, announced today that Women’s Campaign Fund has officially endorsed her candidacy. The announcement comes one week after Lawless received her first endorsement from the Women Under Forty PAC.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have Women’s Campaign Fund on my team,” Lawless said. “They have a long record of success and I know they will be immeasurably helpful to my campaign. It’s an honor to be supported by an organization as well-respected as Women’s Campaign Fund and to be in the company of leaders like Barbara Boxer, Mary Landrieu, and Nancy Pelosi.”

Currently, Rhode Island ranks 35th out of the 50 states in terms of the percentage of women in the state legislature. Rhode Island does not have a single female statewide officeholder and has not elected a woman to serve in its congressional delegation in fifteen years. “Now is the time to send a woman to Washington,” Lawless said.
